Pub closed around Xmas, currently boarded up awaiting a new use
At least they painted the boards white :)

Bit of a longer walk for me, but never fail to have good beers, friendly people who do not get offended at someone chatting to them as part of the general conversation...

Closing party was on 13th June 2009, the pub is now being converted to a rather nice house and there are 3 more houses in the garden
Might be good to remove the "pub" from the list ?

Yet another change of landlords, this time from Birmingham area, understand it is their first time of running a pub, but they have an experienced pub manager who was not around at the time
Had a pint of Abbot Ale, not too bad, but tastes different to the Abbot in the Queens Arms, not sure why....
Asked for a pint of snakebite, got a smug reply that it is illegal to serve it, not actually illegal but some people like to hide behind this fact :(
Decided that would sooner drink in the Queen's or the William Peel and left :)
Had I been told that they do not want to server snakebite until they knew me better or some other excuse, all well and good and would have had a few more beers.
Might give them a go next month when the food is up and running and see how it goes

First visit to the pub was driving and so on soft drinks, good range of food, the friends who were drinking commented on how good the beers were. Mix of ales, lagers and cider with soft drinks at sensible prices.
Family friendly with integral car park

Visited the pub a few months back, recall it used to be full of builders, but understand they are now in the Lord Roberts for the most part.
Great guest beers and friendly staff, ought to go back soon :)

Went to the pub a few months back for a late petanque match, made quite a difference to know that the old landlord had taken his dogs and the pitch was not being used as a dog toilet for a change :)
Have to admit was impressed with the snacks at the end of the match, much improved over the old version that had tried once and never again.
Understand there was a LOT of work done on the pub, due to previous tenants.
Beer tasted pretty good, nice choice. Not drink lager much and so can't comment much on that

Nice pub, friendly punters. Decor not the latest fashion, possibly due to Green King wanting to convert it and the land into yet more houses.
Only pool table in Sandy :)

The Rose and Crown, Sandy
surprised that the pub has not been removed from the list, although it is rather nice that after having been screwed over by the brewery that the nice new house is still unsold a few years later
the landlord clive passed away last year
