Half of me likes this pub for the sheer cleanliness and good decor from its refurb and if you want a sophisticated pint it's worth a go. Just do not eat here if you like your meals at a reasonable value. Not sure how many punters they can attract being hidden away down here.

This pub is mainly about its good location being so close to the river and has to be judged accordingly. There are better pubs to be had in Twickenham but if its a nice pint by the river you're after in summertime or a "living room" feel in winter it makes a good alternative. I have to say though the landlord is prone to being miserable for no obvious reason (although reading previous comments I now have a better idea!) They do a good pint of Kronenburg for those bemoaning lack of premium lager...

The Fountain, Twickenham
This pub is ok for a lunchtime pint/food as long as you don't expect too much. Can be very quiet during the day and when it does get busy it usually means the chavs are in town (sorry but it's the truth). It's very handy though on hot days for a couple of beers in the spacious gardens. The trick with this pub is not to stay too long and it will server its purpose. Otherwise you may start to loathe it.
