The New Inn, Rochdale

Two changes of licensee (I think) since the previous review. Real ale is not guaranteed to be on (although the Hatters is normally there and good). Friendly local, can be very quiet during the afternoon.

Regal Moon, Rochdale

Decent beer (and Marcle Cider), decent food, clean toilets.

But its a Spoons and, like most of them, has the atmosphere of a Motorway Service Station on Pluto.

The Blue Pitts Inn, Castleton

Decent pint of John Willie Lees. Nice friendly pub. Handy for the canal (for those walking along it).

The Roebuck, Rochdale

Pleasant, basic town centre pub. Sam Smiths House, so decent beer despite lack of real ale.

Bowling Green, Rochdale

Pleasant pub (landlady has had a recent clearout of undesirables). Pool table, jukebox, dartboard - decent local. No real ale, which is sometimes a bad thing but at least ensures the place isn't festooned with bearded oafs.
