Well it's finally happened... As I type, a bunch of monkeys are finally ripping out the ever so offensive toilets at the Green Dragon. About time really, to say they were bad would be an understatement but the gents hasn't had a light bulb in one of the cubicles since mid January and at last count had 5 bulbs missing before the closure.
Normally I'd agree with this unique cost-cutting technique but not to the extent of putting customers' safety at risk. These bulbs would only have been replaced after someone had tripped and hurt themselves.
The Dragon is shut for 10 days but with its clientele having to drink elsewhere for what must seem an eternity will they come back? The prices wont draw back the crowds so hopefully a morbid curiosity to see if the refit was worth the wait will do the job.

This has been my local for years. Although I have not visited in months due to work reasons it still remains a pleasure to visit here. The home made lunches may be simple but they are honestly priced and most certainly fresh. No other pub in Horsham could claim fresher food.

A lovely place in summer or during the warmer winter days when you can sit outside but in the autumn and winter don't bother. They will happily stuff people in regardless of whether you can move enough to get to the bar.
The law seems second to takings. On a recent visit, it was an absolute disgrace at the entrance where the doorman displayed no SIA Door Supervisor lisence, a requirement for their late night opening. None the less he looked just as unprofessional in his jeans whilst collecting glasses. Thank god there was no trouble, I'd rather rely on myself to get out of harm's way.

This is the only place I've ever been where the barstaff have had a worse attitude than me. Sneared at for ordering a non-alcoholic drink and over charged for a terrible meal that took far too long to arrive on such a quiet night.
It will survive though, it has 2 large Royal and Sun Alliance buildings giving it endless business but then again, they can afford to eat there as they all work in insurance.
Nice and simple 1/10

I couldn't agree more with the anonymous comment below - tiamaria, I'm not sure you were in the same Green Dragon as everyone else. I'm in there almost everynight and I can't disagree with the anon comment
