I've been to this pub a number of times and would say to people don't be put off by some of the reviews on here. From around Sept 2013 there are people so obviously bent on destroying the landlord's reputation that they have posted adverse reviews about the Railway Tavern on every other pub in the area. They are so transparent that it doesn't take much to work out what they are up to. It seems to me someone has a grudge and this is their way of trying to hit back by telling lies. I really don't like this sort of thing and trust people will make their own minds up. As far as I'm concerned this pub is ok and the beer good. It has a Casque Mark accreditation which speaks for itself.

The pub has been smartened up since new landlord took over and the beer is very good, if not excellent. The staff are always pleasant and the pub is very welcoming. Don't understand the bad reviews. My first thought was that rivals are trying to discredit or the comments are being made by someone with a grudge. Really not to be taken seriously!

The Clock House, East Dulwich
Quite a few times recently there has been no Young's Ordinary Bitter, excuses from 'it's just run out', 'we need to tap a new barrel'. 'we're waiting for a delivery' and so on. The next move is to sell the Special or Bombardier or whatever other beer is on the pumps which is usually more expensive than the Ordinary. Just wondered if a direction comes from higher management telling the bar staff to say the Ordinary is not on so that they can shift the other beers. Just a thought but it does happen far too often and somehow you would think that if they know a beer is that popular they would make sure it doesn't run out! Doesn't do Young's image any favours either.
