The Red Shoot Inn, Linwood

At the Red Shoot at the weekend and the place was HEAVING. Despite that, service was fast and pleasent. The staff were efficient when it was busy and chatty when it got quiet after lunch. Food was excellant in both quantity and quality. The beer - unfortunatly I was driving so only had a half of the 'Corvus' stout - Om nom nom. Definately would recommend.

The Mucky Pup, Angel, Islington

Not the easiest public house to find (at least for me) but well worth searching out. There is a VERY friendly barman, good (home made) pork scratchings, reasonable food, and interesting decor. The bitter is limited, only three on tap, but those that are there are very well looked after. The TT Landlord this weekend was more than drinkable. The eclectic jukebox helps the ambiance. I will visit again when I am next in the area.

The Flask, Highgate

Not a bad pub, in a very nice area. After a long walk from the station (Much longer walk back after a few ales!), we finally got to the bar. Nicely spacious pub , with some intimate little nooks and crannies (Otto's corner). A nice big area out front with space heaters - perfect for these autumn nights.

Food was supurb, highly recommend the pork-belly. Wait-staff were very good at coping with a large and random crowd with great dexterity.

Beer - a limited selection of Fullers on draft - though with a couple of surprise additions. The beer was good, but as noted below, measures were short, being poured with a largish head (1/2 inch) and then left that way as the head settled. Fair selection of bottled beers behind the bar .

Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, Fleet Street

Good beer, not bad food, slightly dissapointing puddings (Size not taste). Popped in again last night, and the place was a little busy just after work, but quitened down fast after 8ish. Enjoyed the Old Brewery in the ground floor back bar, though it was a little chilled (icy even). Barstaff were pleasent, service was fast. Nice interesting venue with lots of corners to explore.

Richard I, Greenwich

Good beer - Enjoyed the waggle dance as a bit of a change - and the rest of the lineup is usually top notch. They definately seem to know what they are doing in the cellar. The barstaff however are a bit slow, electric cattle prods should be provided for all drinkers as a form of entertainment, might liven them up a little. Food is good - as is the food service - large portions, not too badly priced considering the area. One of the better establishments in Greenwich.

The Spanish Galleon, Greenwich

What can I say about this pub - nothing good unfortunately. Barstaff seem totally clueless - when asked what Scotch they had, they offered Archers? Spitfire was poor - tasted like the pipes were cleaned during the reign of the last Queen. Could not in any way recommend this pub. Avoid! There are many better pubs just a short walk from here that have not fallen yet.
