Sidcup Place, Sidcup

Bloody awful. I used to live 50 yards from this place, but would still go to The Alma, since they actually serve alcohol there. If I wanted to go to a place where the children outnumber the adults I'd drink in school.

The Horse and Groom, Sidcup

Used to be a bit more friendly-looking, now it's just another white-walled, brightly-lit modern pub. Terrible.

The Alma, Sidcup

One of the nicer boozers in Sidcup - friendly, with no music. Huge beer garden and a reasonable selection of beer. A good pub for an evening of chat and steady, civilised drinking - an increasing rarity in Sidcup!

Ye Old Stationmaster, Chislehurst

It's been through a couple of superficial changes over the years, but it's always been The Bickley Arms to me. Beer selection is pretty ordinary, but the staff are lovely and the variety of people makes it interesting. Jukebox is fab, food is very cheap and the beer garden is great in summer, not to mention large!

The Ramblers Rest, Chislehurst

My favourite pub in Chislehurst. Not a huge selection of beer, but a nice place to arrange to meet up, and the garden is lovely in the summer.

The Parrot, Canterbury

Probably my favourite pub in Canterbury, definitely one of my favourite pubs anywhere, ever! Lovely, cosy atmosphere, especially on Sundays, and an almost daunting range of beer, friendly staff and good food. Time almost seems to stand still when you enter this place!

The Hobgoblin, Canterbury

Nice, spacious pub, friendly staff, very lively in the evenings, decent food, great jukebox and a suitably decent range of beer no messing!

The Hawley Arms, Camden

I've drunk (and been drunk!) in nearly every pub in the the Camden Town/Chalk Farm area. Accept no substitute: this is the best boozer in the area.
Not only is there a good selection of beers (bottled and draught, kept well and at prices reasonable for Camden), but an awesome array of whiskies and other splendid spirits, served by the friendliest and most likeable staff I've ever met in London (and you can't put a value on things like that when you're a regular liquid luncher). By day it's a nicely-lit, spacious place to lunch and relax, by evening it has a lively, but warm atmosphere and there's nice seating for tastes both comfy and hard, a tasteful and eclectic jukebox and - beyond all doubt - the best pub grub in town, with items ranging from the classic (a beautiful steak/ale pie and mash; beer-battered fish & chips with mushy peas) to the whimsical but welcome (egg and soldiers, inspired!) - and all cooked from scratch to order.
It would almost be a shame to rate this pub highly and raise its profile: after all, you wouldn't want just anyone in on your secret, would you?
