Excellent pub in an interesting town. Good food and ale. What a pity you can't tie your boat up outside.

Nice pub with excellent outlook over the river from the patio off the bar. Good food and ale. Friendly landlord who is also a boatie.

Very nice riverside pub with adequate moorings for 3 or 4 visiting boats. On a warm sunny day the riverside beer garden is hard to beat. Good food and ale.

A pleasant enough pub right by the Oxford Canal. Limited menu. The pub was up for sale when we visited so I suspect there was something of a lack of interest.

Pretty hard to fault. Chocolate box-pretty thatched pub in canal village. Good food and ale. Pleasant staff, especially the young fellow who was earning a few bob in the 'varsity holidays. Friendly natives. A bit dear, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Often saw this pub from the train and said to myself that when we got our own narrowboat we'd stop here for a meal and a pint. Now we've got our boat and we stopped. What a disappointment. OK ale, but scruffy, run down, poor food, disinterested landlord. One of the worst pubs we've visited around the waterways. A scandalous waste of a great site.

Lovely pub in delightful canalside setting with excellent moorings for visiting boaties. Pleasantly busy with good food and ale. Nice staff except for one blonde who should find alternative employment (I suspect she might be a parking warden doing a bit of moonlighting). She shot through about 1830 so it didn't spoil our evening. Yes, we will be back.

Most welcoming riverside pub. "Can we tie up for the night outside?" "Of course, Sir. You're most welcome." Brilliant! Superb mooring. Step off the boat one pace into the beer garden. Any closer and Narrowboat Rangitoto would have been in the bar! Good food and ale with a delightful outlook over the Thames which people would travel a long way to enjoy (we sure have!).
Only one snag - next morning the hired hand appeared with a waterblaster to clean the beer garden. Our pristine narrowboat got splattered with stogies. However, he did let me use the 'blaster to clean off the mess when he had finished.
