The Old Dispensary, Whitechapel
This was the first pub on our crawl yesterday. What an excellent start it was. The staff were extremely welcoming, efficient and knowledgeable. Beer choice was good. We were particularly impressed to see Cheddar Valley cider. The very tasty chicken and chorizo pies we ordered set us up nicely for the day ahead. ALL in all I'd recommend a visit. It has to be a top contender for the Whitechapel pub of any Monopoly crawl.

It would seem that, as with most things, timing is everything when visiting the Peacock. It was the second pub on our crawl yesterday afternoon and when we arrived at 1.30 it was very quiet. Service was quick and efficient, but the Doom Bar we had was disappointing. I'm sure that the time of our arrival didn't help, but we were left struggling to understand it's current rating.

Liked the pub a lot. Very friendly staff. Much cheaper round than other nearby boozers.

East India Arms, Fenchurch Street
I chose this pub as an alternative to The Fen on our Monopoly inspired crawl yesterday. We were less than impressed. The rather surly young man behind the bar served us with an air of contempt and disinterest that would be hard to match. Maybe we're not great lovers of the Shepherd Neame style, but the quality of the beer also disappointed.
