Three Compasses, Hornsey

Fine pub, friendly staff, good mix of locals. It does have a telly and does show football but it is down one end so it is easy to avoid. The food is reasonable and simple. Well worth a visit. Avoid the quiz, you need to be a serious rocket scientist to understand the questions!

The Blue Anchor Inn, Teignmouth

Best pub in Tinners. Yes you may hear some swearing, I can't think of any public environment where I have never heard any swearing. The important bits; the beers, always a good selection of local and guest, well kept and served by knowledable pleasant staff. Yes there is a telly, I have only ever seen it on for the rugby. If you need the toilet follow your nose, at least there is chalk in there for writing on the wall.
