Gone bust (feel mildly guilty re my comment below).
Soon to be a Carluccio's - can't imagine anyone being too upset by this.

Seems to be really suffering due to the popularity of the 'new' Halfway House, so fingers crossed it goes bust and becomes a restaurant again.
Echo comments re outside seating in a bus stop, ha ha

Ignore the Numchuck below, he she or it obviously owns 'mel's' down the road.
Halfway House - not for me, but it's a damn sight busier than it ever used to be so perhaps Youngs are onto something.
Ah well.

Hi Mel.
Not that good in Mel's really - Open Page was much better. 'The works' that the reviewer below bangs on about ends up costing about 30 quid for two by the time you've had a coffee or whatever - a little OTT for SW18.
Asked for a pint of Spindrift. 'Ohh are you sure that's an ale you know'. Resisted the temptation to tip it over the numpty's head.
4/10 overall, would be a 2 but the garden is quite nice.

Bar staff comprehensively incompetent.
London Pride a very odd straw colour.
One to strenuously avoid, this.

No longer a pub. Has reopened as Mels Caf Bar or some other such utter drivel. Another overpriced, mediocre, soulless and overpriced eating-joint.
Open Page wasnt great but at least it was a boozer.

Not bad as Wetherspoons go. Decent wide beer selection, service is alright, always plenty of space. One for the serious drinker. Happy daze.

Its had a few months to bed in now so its fair to give it an objective report.
Another proper local boozer ruined by Youngs. Destroyed. A horrible mish mash of crap design in the interior, the beer tastes like water (mainly just lagers now anyway), food is mediocre and LUDICROUSLY expensive, staff are utterly clueless another one bites the dust. Some sort of wannabe gastro style bar crossed (Jeff Goldblum in The Fly style) with some Islingtonite numptys idea of what an old fashioned pub should be fails miserably on both counts.
I should have seen this coming, difficult not to be very disappointed by Youngs. Again.

The Halfway House, Earlsfield
Unspeakably awful, largely due to the unspeakably awful manager.
