Back here again just before Christmas. Seems the pub was about to close earlier in the year but has been saved with the help of the locals. Still a fantastic community pub and with a much fresher feel. The beers on were Doombar, Trelawney. Pedigree and Burton Ale. Apparently they may be doing food soon. Definitely worth a visit.

I didn't really get this place! It's a sort of privately owned Harvester type place.
Not really a drinking establishment - only real ale was Wells Bombardier Burning Gold.
Specializes in steaks - they were well cooked but nothing special yet people seem to rave about this place and come from miles around!

A really pleasant community pub. Doesn't do food but had three excellent real ales on including two from local brewers.

I have been to Tewkesbury many times but have never been in this pub before.
We were visiting relatives and taking the dog for a walk on Christmas day morning, when we walked past the White Bear. It was completely surrounded by flood water and the doors were all sand bagged. A chap shouted out "We're open if you fancy popping in" so we took him up on the offer and he provided us with some chairs to negotiate a wall avoiding having to wade through the water. Everyone was very friendly and I had an excellent pint of Bass or two. This place struck me as a proper community pub.

Visited this week - excellent range of well kept real ales (London Pride, Doombar, Butcombe and Adnams Ghostship). Good food prepared to order - and you can also meet Milly the pub donkey!

Visited this Pub on Good Friday. It was dead!
This used to be an excellent traditional pub with good, well kept beers and a great atmosphere. Unfortunately the long standing landlord left last year and then a Wetherspoons opened opposite selling beer at half the price.
The pub is currently being run by short term management companies who have little interest in the place.
Wadworths are looking for tenants but so far without success. Let's hope they find the right people, otherwise I fear another traditional pub will bite the dust.
