The Bell, Fetcham

I personally have stopped going to the Bell after many years - shame coz it's a 5 min walk from me but the prices are ridiculous! and it's not the place to go for a quiet drink with one friend - there are no small tables - you feel stupid sitting at a huge table for 8 people just two of you! It has become more of a restaurant than a pub ... bring back the old Bell with the cheap drink and huge well priced pub meals - we don't need another restaurant in Fetcham - we need a good old fashioned pub!

When did it become a restaurant? Been in there twice recently and took forever to get a drink at the bar - all the staff were busy hovering around tables to take food orders. When I did eventually get a drink and sit down I kept getting asked every 5 mins if I was eating! Can I not just sit and have a drink in the pub anymore?

The drinks are sooooo expensive! It is the only pub in Fetcham though so they can get away with it. I preferred it when it was a hungry horse pub - the meals were enormous - loads of veg! I went there the other Sunday - the hock of pork was good but the roast beef my friend had just wasn't enough - hardly any meat. Hate the wooden floor - just not a warm pub anymore - really cold and those high tables and stools - this is Fetcham not London! We don't want a young, trendy pub. What happened to all the small tables at a normal level where you didn't have to climb onto the chairs?
