The Ship, Tottenham

Absoloute dump of a pub, if you can call it a pub.
Every Friday, Saturday it is full of Rastafarian men playing cards for money or dominoes and constantly banging table and shouting. This goes on for hours on end and throughout the duration not one of the 20 or so Rastafarians has a drink on the table.
Behind the bar is very dirty , ceiling looks like it has started to fall down in two places. Toilets smashed up completely, no working lights , toilet roll has to be purchased by customers from shop few doors down.
The landlady , a painfully thin hagged person and who has clearly had a hard life (looks 25 years older than she actually is) allows people to come in who have just been shop lifting to sell the stolen items to punters. She even bought two bottles of vodka herself from the chap. He had Iceland pizzas, lumps of meat, alcohol and was selling the stuff for a 1/3rd of its value. I have been working and living in Tottenham for the past 7 years and have given it a miss for 6 years, then popped in out of sheer optimism for the first time . I was offered Cocaine in the toilets, counterfeit DVDs from a Chinese woman at the bar, and newly stolen food products from a Jamaican fella, all in the space of one pint , half hour!!
The landlady Shivoon , the woman that said she was the owner , is clearly out of her depth here.
None of us will be back that's for sure. We'll take the long walk up to the gilpin or stick with the occasional after work drink at the Elbow room a few doors down...

The Elbow Room, Tottenham

Pub not too bad, large selection of lagers and one real ale which I didn't try.
Bar staff friendly although looking rather ragged. Been coming here with colleagues on and off for past 7 years.
All in all a nice pub for the area but often have run out of Guinness which 4 of my colleagues drink. Much better than the filthy dump next door with filthy bar and hagged bar maid, namely The Ship.
The landlord here at the Elbow is friendly and always says hello, however his personal hygiene is something to be desired and can be quite overpowering when you walk in. Nevertheless not a bad pub.

The Dutch House, Tottenham

Has to be one of the worst pubs in North London.
Extremely lazy Lithuanian barmaid, permanently glued to her telephone rather than serving or cleaning the filthy bar top/ tables. Hardly speaks or understands a word of English. The other punters were moaning about her too.
The toilets are filthy dirty. Flooded floor of urine, no toilet roll or hand soap, doesn't look like the toilets have been cleaned in months, possibly decades. You can smell the urine when you walk in.
Beer flies swarming about the filthy front bar area. Everything sticky and beer stained , despite not being busy and mid afternoon on a Tuesday.
Get some new bar staff and that would be a massive improvement to start with.

The Beehive, Tottenham

It has bloody well closed down again-what is going on here?!!! Was until now and only recently the only safe place to go around here with colleagues for a drink after work. Was exceptionally clean, warm , friendly staff, and an excellent pint of Guinness that you can't get anywhere else. The manager was friendly and kept out all the dregs that used to frequent the place. Anyone know what is going on?
