St Margarets Tavern, St Margarets
Worth visiting if only to seek out Arthur Dinari, the famous football supporting vegetarian with a dislike of trash. He only comes here, never comments on anywhere else. Come on manager, get your staff to cheer up a bit and stop spending so much time putting transparent comments on here!!

Top quality London Pride, always. Real mixed bunch of locals and passers by. Not incredibly exciting, different or ground-breaking but the Turks is a real pub worth visiting. Comfortable, cheery and villagelike. Recommended.

I disagree Mr Rugby man, this pub has just changed, and all the old smokey real ale drinking customers now drink at The Bricklayers and discuss who will give the Dukes the next slating on this site. They are of course entitled to their opinions, as is the new younger crowd who choose to drink there. Yes the pub has been Putneyfied, to use a previous poster's word, but for many of us, that's a good thing. The Dukes Head is good, expensive yes, but kind of happy, and the beer is consistantly excellent. And even though it's very busy, there are no bouncers and no trouble. Give it a few months for the newness to wear off and it will be one of my favourites.

Sorry, it's still rubbish, too bright, soulless and full of scary blokes. Staff seem generally disinterested and food is too expensive. An average to poor station pub now with no character. Shameful but true. Oh, the quiz is mindless twaddle as well.

The Bear and Staff, Leicester Square
Well run and always welcoming, which is a bit of an oddity in The West End!

The White Horse, Parsons Green
Cool place to hang out, full of minor celebreties. Got pissed with Rick Stein the chef in there a couple of months ago.

The Jolly Gardners, Putney
Excellent pub. Really comes alive in the evenings. Unbelievable range of draught beers. Always full of "beautiful people". Staff are very laid back and a bit slow but I really think this adds to the charm.
