Used to love it in here, always bumped into people you knew.
Ground floor was always full of the younger generation kicking off every weekend and music was the kind you need to take drums to perform
Second floor was good with the two bars and dance floor, good music
Third bar was great, small dance floor but good music. Copped off every weekend ;-)
Last memory in here about 10 years ago was pole dancing in the cage on bottom floor got thrown out by a women bouncer who obviously did not like my moves on the dance floor!
Could never get taxi home so they trick was to leave half hour before closing or there was always people fighting for taxis or kebabs
Grew up fast and thank god bars started opening late

I work in Bury Town centre and see people waiting out side to get their first drink in here at around 11am, nice to see what my taxes pay for!!!
People just used to hang round drinking out of brown bags in bus station or Kay Gardens but now they can keep warm in here
Dirty place, people and cheap/nasty drinks

Yet another sweat box but ok if they open the doors to the garden on the ground floor.
Bogs are horrible and always big Q
Think everyone grows too old for this place!

Nice bar, looks good inside and out with plenty of place to sit if needed.
Food typical British, very good selection of wines
Friendly door staff, bar staff could be a bit more happy!

Good bar and staff are always friendly.
Get a nice bunch of people in here and never seen any trouble
Seem to play good music, live or not and always a good atmosphere/chance to have a good dance
Food is ok in the day, get a big portion but a bit slow as only usually have one person on behind the bar serving both drinks/food

Used to be good in here, good music and always room on dance floor
Now its like nobody cares anymore.
Floor always full of drink (or thats what I think it was) windows always misted up, proper sweat box.
Toilets are disgusting, no locks on doors, floors full of god knows what, never any bog paper and always someone crying or being sick

The George (Beer Engine), Bury
What a shame for this place, they have done it up really nice both inside and out but still attracts the same scum of Bury.
If you ever need a fix/new outfit/woman for the weekend go in here!
Apparently my mother missed her bus home once so called in here for a quick drink as it was very cold out.
She commented to the bar person, ''why are there so many women out tonight, is it a group meeting?''
The bar person said it was the local prostitutes, must say I have never seen any in Bury, yet!

First went on a hen party and got the trots
Second time went and my friend got thrown out even thought she was the one who was attached
Third time went in, full to bursting, stuck to carpets and full of old women (with far too many gold jewellery pieces on their bodies) looking for toy boys.
Takes ages to get served and dont have a good selection of wines but they do good offers of beers and spirits.
Fourth time, dont think so!!!

Lovely food and friendly staff, always feel like I am in Manchester City centre when I go in here.
Don't tend to get chav's in here, as the prices are a little higher than other bars in Bury so dont mind paying the price!

Verve, Bury
Too small, too many people packed in and no air-con
