Great pub, one you have to visit if you are in the area. Had a great pint of Hercules - bit of a beast at 6.5%

Called in at 2.40 last Friday afternoon. Noticed a couple of people eating and as I was starving I enquired if they did food. Young bonny lass behind the bar said I should be ok if I hurried to order. At the same time the mess on my left (that was shovelling chips down her throat at great speed) piped up "kitchens shut, shut at 2.30" She shouts this at the barmaid rather than addressing me direct
Turns out this thing is the landlady!!
Pubs all over closing and this idiot is still employed? Why??
AVOID

Great pub, as good as it gets in fact - but must put Evoflash straight. 3 iPhones at one table today (not that I disapprove)
Much more worrying was the sight of a pack of Melton Mowbray pies. WHY? This is the North. Home of great pork pies. We have no need for that sort of tat
Mae do with a bowl of chilli - which was outstanding

other than that not worth a mention

fantastic for music, great landlord
however ale is shocking and full of the feral generation

Small friendly pub. Just one room, but has plenty of room to sit outside when the weather is good.
Serves a cracking pint of TT's Landlord

Always some decent ale on offer. Was in last week for the football. Sadly the landlord was poor. The black sheep was decent. The copper dragon golden pippin was fantastic.
Does food and the locals are friendly enough - landlord and his Mrs are sound enough
Well worth visiting if in the area

Souless hole & temple of the pin stripe suited ape.. Full of people who don't like beer and would probably drink urine if you sold it at 5 a pint.
Avoid unless you are a moron with more money than sense.

It's got the holy trinity. Sky sports, cracking pork pies (Wilson's) & the best pint of Landlord outside Keighley. Praise be.
Pub has had a facelift inside. Bright shiny new feel to it, but unlike the poncy holes on Greek St (full of call centre team leaders filling in their application forms for The Apprentice) this place remembers what a pub is meant to be about. Serving good ale & has a friendly atmosphere.
Well worth a visit when in Leeds.

Cracking pub.. That's pub not bar. Proper tap room, where you are advised not to enter unless you can verbally fence & like a pork pie.
Best room at the front and the only connection between the two rooms is the gents wc!!
Tetleys Cask and some cracking guest real ales on. Proper gem of a pub, in CAMRA guide

Called in around noon on a Saturday.
Chalkboard boasted they had Everards Tiger, they didn't.
Menu offered a decent looking pie, waited ages for service and tried to order one. They didn't have any left!!
The Deuchars IPA was decent though the soulless pub wasn't to my liking
So I left after just one pint

The pub you should head for if you are in the ciy centre and don't fancy a walk.
The Golden Dragon is usually spot on. Black Sheep isn't bad either.
Food is worth buying too, try the fish & chips.
Always a good atmosphere in here, moron free pub usually

Sums up all that is wrong with modern Bradford. Was once the wool capital of the world, were they built a fantastic City Hall.
Opposite it we now have this care in the community drop in centre to greet visitors to the City
Needs semtex to improve the place

Well kept pub on the edge of the City Centre. Great for watching racing and having a pint in peace.
Nice roomy private decked area in the summer, but please don't moan about the view.
This is Bradford what do you expect to see? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? The hanging gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically.

Tap room is straight out of 1974. Think Regan & Carter knocking a few back before the 3.00 bell.
"Two pints of Double Diamond and a panatella please Treacle, and give us yer number"

A truely unique experience. Don't think there is another pub like it in West Yorkshire or wider. Eclectic mix of humanity lit by gaslight.
The locals are all usually interesting characters, you get a few CAMRA tourists in, a few folk who have slipped off the grid, music performers and football fans. Next door are two above average Curry Houses.
What's not to like?
Oh and the beer is cracking too. Best pub for miles.

Fanny's Ale And Cider House, Saltaire
Not sure what bradwan meant about being a middle class pub, they let me in have never checked my social standing before serving me.
Used to be a cracking pub, spoilt a little now in my opinion by 'professional drinkers', calling in to tick the pub off a list rather than to enjoy the cracking ale they sell. Perhaps that is what you meant by middle class? If you can get past the sippers stood blocking the door, and grab a table it's well worth a visit. In fact they should introduce a rule to boot out idiots who sit at tables and take over 30 mins to drink a pint in all pubs.
The new toilets upstairs are a bit out of keeping too. Well actually they'd be out of keeping anywhere bar Peter Stringfellow's Marbella flat. Certainly out of character with Fannys.
If you are within 5 miles of the place you really should call in.

The Red Rooster, Brighouse
Great small pub. Taylors & Moorhouses on good form. I had a lovely pint of Marble's Pint here too.
Good pie & peas also.
