This pub has a slightly spooky atmosphere, which may or may not be due to its resident ghost. We liked it, although I think it's possibly most suited for a grey and rainy day.
Situated in the middle of the main high street, it has wide windows which overlook the pavement, and we sat for hours in the afternoon, drinking Ringwood Best and people-watching.

Wow! We really enjoyed this pub. Such a lovely setting to mark our special evening. The food is excellent. The staff are down to earth and so are the prices. Very glad we booked as it was busy even though we were quite early doors.

A gem of a pub. The manageress made my husband and I feel very welcome. The atmosphere is nice, with a lovely fire, and the ale is well kept.

We stopped here whilst walking the Itchen Way. IMHO the best pub for a long way. Unlike The Flowerpots in nearby Cheriton, the owners of The Tichborne Arms were friendly and didn't come across as if they resent non-locals. The ale and food were fantastic, tasty with a wide selection.

The ale was very good, brewed on site, and the gardens to the front and rear are nice spaces. However, the owners were quite rude to customers and the atmosphere amongst their staff is tense which affects the overall atmosphere. Also the food is pricey for what it is.

The Red Lion, Avebury
We had a very long wait for three teas that were luke warm when they eventually came. The beer was very poor. The barman was not so welcoming, although the female member of staff who served the rubbish tea was smiley.
It's a shame this pub isn't better because it is in such a lovely location.
