This pub is probably one of the best in the leigh area, again, if it's a nice summers day there isn't a better place to be. Good food and quick service, but it does get rather packed on a nice day but there's plenty of space outside, there isn't a pub in the area with such a big outdoor seating area.

This is a local pub that does good food and not bad ales either. The prices are average, not cheap but not expensive, and it does have a nice outdoor seating area for when the summer comes back. This pub has probably the best child friendly area in the area, and probably even in the whole of southend, so feel free to take the kids along if it's a nice day as they've got a rather large and well maintained kids area round the side.
It is a bit of a "local pub" it's not exactly buzzing with life inside most days, but on a friday/saturday night it's a good place to start the drinking from.

I've had many a good night in this pub, the service was friendly and the drinks we're pretty cheap in comparison to some who exploit the fact they're in southend. As the chap said before me it sits beside a morrisons, which is handy if you run outta fags or fag papers;) Also, this pub is on a main bus route so no need to walk for 30 minutes to catch a bus.

This is one of those places that people might stop going to after a while, but you'll always go back. Not bad deals on pitchers if thats your kind thing, with a "Yellow Card" you can also get a few deals, plus it's pound a pint on tuesdays. Though you'll have to get there for a about 7 to secure a place inside as it gets rather packed on pound a pint night as you'd expect. Few arcade games, outside garden with TV in the summer, 3 pool tables and a cash machine amongst other things.

The Borough Hotel, Southend on Sea
This is by far the best pub in southend. Friendly staff, wide selection of ale, the best pool table in the area, darts board, and a killer jukebox. This does also serve a superb pint, probably the best in the area.

This is a fun place to be during the day, i love these big pubs with loads of couches an nice seats to sit on. From what i've been told the food is rather nice, and the drinks are fair priced as you'd expect from a JD's.
There is one big downside though, this placed does attract the local muppets at times, an the odd scrap does occur maybe on a friday/saturday night or on a match day, other than that it's a refreshing place to have a few pints.

This is a "local pub for local people" you might say, it can be rather clicky at times, not some place i'd personally like to take friends for a few quiet pints.
They have an "okay" outdoor area where you can sit when the sun is out, the prices are average, an they do stock the odd rare ale/cider, but nothing to get excited about.
And as that guy said before me, it's worth the 30 second walk 2 doors down to the Chequers.

I'm thinking all the emo kids have come on here in the thousands and voted for this place, because it sure as hell doesn't deserve the rating it has.
Okay so, it's a small venue where you can see the next up and coming emo/metal acts, but it's nothing special. The dance floor has a huge pole right in the middle of it, which spoils things greatly.
It's not a great pint but not as bad as some of em, if you've been looking for a local venue to catch a few bands and a few average priced drinks, this is the place to be.
