By far my favourie pub in Romford, the olde worlde atmosphere really relaxes you. A pint next to the roaring fire, sat next to the leaded light window, really warms the cockles.
Not full of rowdy youngsters either, which is a rarety in Romford.
I remember in the 80's when they put some animals out the back. Nice touch! I often wonder what happened to the donkey and goat.

A nice little pub, but can get very packed on a market day. Evenings are not so bad, it has a nice little raised section on the left hand side I believe for people who are eating there.

The Durham Arms, Romford
For some bizarre reason I used to frequent this pub in the early 90's with a mate of mine. Bizarre for the fact that he lived in Collier Row and I lived near North Street so a bit of a hike.
I remember they had a lounge, which we were always welcome in and the landlord was a lovely old feller who when he found out I was in the army in Germany latched on to me and regalled me with his stories of National Service.
