The atmosphere isn't great, but the burgers are. They have a good choice of ales and a split feed for Sky Sports.

Nice looking pub, if you like what appears to the Wapping aesthetic, which I do, with good outdoor space. But further to the below, if their limited selection of weirdly branded not great tasting beer which makes you feel extra ropey in the morning is good value then I can take that hit, but if it's not (£8.30 for two pints) then it isn't that appealing.

I prejudged this place about six years ago and decided impose a lifetime veto; however, I had a bit of time to kill while in the area, so went in for a quick pint. Sometimes it's best to go with one's hunches; zero atmosphere, poor selection of drinks, some weirdo tried to talk to me at the bar and it wasn't even cheap.

I've always found this place to be a decent stop off for a couple of pints before going off somewhere else. It's pretty basic, whether that's an intentional aesthetic or just complacency is hard to say.

I had a much more positive experience than the recent reviewers - they have Meantime Pale Ale, the service was good and the build your own burgers were excellent, both in terms of choice and quality.
The concept of ordering through the tablet is gimmicky, but only about half the tables have them, so they are not obligatory, and even if there is one on your table, you can still order from the bar. Whether or not the service is quicker than if you went to the bar yourself is hard to say; there wasn't much of a queue at the bar, but that is likely to be because most people were ordering from their tables. There was a brief wait, but I've certainly queued at bars in other pubs for longer.
Having said all that, burgers aside, it's still pretty average - not much atmosphere, possibly becuase people are just sitting at their tables, rather than milling around.

Should have a much higher rating than it does - very wide selection of beers, nice pub, food looked decent.

Good venue for watching sport - has a big central screen, and lots of decent TVs in various nooks/booths, including one outside. It gets busy for big midweek European matches, but the bar is well staffed. The pizzas are also good. On the down side, there is a poor selection of drinks. The only ale is some very average Green King, and the lager selection is limited. Can be quite empty on non-match days, which means that the faint smell of drains isn't masked.

Cosy pub with a good atmosphere and a very good selection of beers - the Monsoon IPA was great, they also had a few white beers. The food looked decent.

My experience was a lot more positive than my predecessors - I was there for the comedy, so I was only in the pub to get drinks, but the bar staff were good, the range of drinks was decent, (the Yellow Hammer was good) and although there was a group of lads in hats loudly playing a drinking game (21) there weren't any obvious scumbags.

Large pub with a long bar, lots of choice, the more interesting beers are round the back. Lots of men with beards.

Big pub with a broad selection of unusual yet tasty beers. Cock and beard heavy.

Bit of a mixed bag this one. Some good elements, ie showing two types of sport (Man U/Everton and England/Ireland in the 6 Nations), decent selection of drinks, seating in pretty good nick and hardworking friendly bar staff. However, I’d always previously avoided going here after a friend told me that he found a pair of befouled pants in the gents. This time two of the urinals were blocked up with vomit, and there is a bit of a hostile air to the place.

Busy with post-work drinkers, good atmosphere and good beers. Deserves a higher score than 4.1.

Now called The Lamb. Trying to be pretentious, eg live bluegrass and posters advertising a screening of a Danish post-rock band’s film about a Russian mining village, (booking essential), but it’s a pretty conventional pub with conventional drinkers and a good choice of beers; The Dark Star Hophead was excellent. Expensive for the area, if the purpose of that is to keep out the local riff-raff it’s a successful approach.

I've always enjoyed myself here. It's busy but big enough so that you can usually get a seat, wide selection of unusual beers, lively/party atmosphere. Great place for a session.

The Crown And Two Chairmen, Soho
I've always found this place to be a good place to meet for a quick pint. Very buzzy atmosphere and decent choice of drinks. Predictably expensive.

The Camel & Artichoke, Waterloo
Perfectly pleasant if you're in the area, but not really a destination pub. As an update to the below, they now sell Doom and Hobgoblin.

Very average. As others as have alluded to, given the decent choice of pubs in the area there aren't many reasons to come here. We did because we'd already been to The Bree Louise, and The Tap was rammed. In its favour, it does have a big screen and a few big TVs, and their commitment to showing football was evidenced by their showing of some Copa Del Rey match on one feed and Sky Sports news on another.

Excellent pub, varied selection of ales, also does decent lagers for those who like that sort of thing. Further to the below, it is quite basic (maybe because of their success they feel they don't have to try) but I found the bar staff to be good. My only gripe is that it does get rather busy and seems to attract more than its fair share of middle aged punters who aren't very nimble on their feet.

I'm a massive fan of this pub. Great selection of beers, good food, open til late and always has a good atmosphere. It also has a massive outdoor area which is great in the summer; the downside to this is that it becomes a victim of its own success and so it can take ages to get served. Some say that this is because the bar staff are work-shy posers, and while this may have been a contributory factor in the past, the current batch provide an excellent service.

The Warwick Castle, Maida Vale
I was slightly disappointed, given how nice the local area and exterior of the pub are. Pretty average, with bad music being played quite loudly, though the Green King IPA was very good.

Tastefully designed pub which is popular with couple and groups. Both barmen provided such an inordinately slow service one gets the impression that it's intentional.

Pubs like this are hard to find; a pleasant place to drink with a great set up for watching football (two projectors and two big screens). Also does a very good quality roast.

Now The Phoenix (The Circle burnt down in 2011, you see what they’ve done here). Only re-opened quite recently, and gives the impression that it is still trying to work out who it is trying to appeal to, and so doesn’t have any defining characteristics. Reasonably smart décor, small but decent selection of lagers and ales (including Staropramen, Estrella, Doom), lots of bottles of spirits, Sky Sports and a reasonably priced and varied menu.

Fantastic pub (Craft, not The Lord Wolseley). Has about 20 different ales on tap which are fairly priced, and a large fridge with dozens of bottles, so would be a great place for a session, though most people were taking it easy. Nice decor, has a three rooms and a decent garden. Doesn't do food or have TVs.

No longer the Jay Cubed; it was great 2010, but became an unpleasant shambles in 2012. It's now called The Fallen Angel. It's had a minor facelift and they now have a pulpit in the middle of the pub from which a DJ was playing some decent songs. They've still got a TV showing Sky Sports and I think I saw someone bringing in a Dominos, but the pool table has been removed from the back room. Has a decent range of lagers, but no ales. It was pretty dead on a Friday night, so not many reasons to recommend it.

The Carlisle Arms, Soho
I want to like this pub more than I do - good music, and not just 80s rock that the paraphernalia on the walls suggests. They played The Buzzcocks, Nirvana and "Sex and Candy", which I haven't heard for years. But other than the music it's pretty limited without much good to say about it.
