The Kings Arms, Soho

Great gay pub for bears and admirers. I usually end up here a couple of nights a week for a few cheeky pints after work.

Staff are very friendly and polite - as are most of the clientele.

Can be a bit cliquey if you are on your own, but with a bunch of mates its a nice place to hang out.

In the summer it gets incredibly busy outside with people drinking al fresco. It also has a much underused upstairs.

Sundays are well known for Karaoke so get there early unless you want to find yourself squashed in a corner with lots of hairy men. But then again, maybe thats what you're looking for....

The Duke of Wellington, Soho

Love this pub.

Always a great place to meet up with friends for an early evening beer or two. Its a gay pub but incredibly straight friendly with lots of middle aged couples popping in on their way to the theatre.

Always jam packed on weekends and most nights its pretty busy.

Staff are efficient and know what they are doing. Usually pretty friendly too.

Has a great upstairs with comfy sofas and much more relaxed atmosphere than downstairs where it can get crowded.

TV Screens play out the latest pop anthems and a few hidden gems. Music can get pretty loud as the evening goes on.

Definately should be on anyones list of pubs in this area to visit.

79 CXR, Charing Cross Road

Ugh... No matter how drunk you get, and how fogged up your beer goggles are, this place is not the nicest venue to find yourself in.

Its usually busy from 11pm (it has a 3am licence). But the venue needs so much work doing to it. It could be a much nicer place with a paint job and a bit of love and attention.

Don't bother to venture to the nasty toilets unless you are really desperate....

The Admiral Duncan, Soho

A decent boozer in the heart of Old Compton Street, Londons most well known gay street.

Usually packed on a weekend night. During the week it can be hit and miss.

Staff are generally very friendly and efficient, although it can get very busy and take a while to get served.

Jukebox hooked up to the internet and quiz machine for those who fancy their luck.

Can be quite cruisey later in the night, but otherwise it's a friendly bar which is definately worth a visit.

WARNING: Popular bar with hen parties who want to dance to Kylie and Steps! :)

Vauxhall Griffin, Vauxhall

Went here for the first time last night for their infamous pub quiz. Staff very friendly - didn't have to wait to be served when I went to the bar. Clientele seemed very mixed - gay/straight, young/old etc. Quiz was a good laugh and a nice way to spend a Tuesday evening. Will definately be going back.
