Just been re-furbished. Went there for the first time in a long time to see what it was like now and got the same friendly welcome as before. it gets quite lively later on, now there's more floor space for the customers. The beer is well kept but the range is limited to hall and woodhouse brews (unless I'm going blind in my old age). I don't believe they serve food since the refurb - so no change there. I've given an Un-generous rating as they don't have a guest beer.

Not quite sure where the reputation mentioned in the other reviews comes from as this seems to be the most relaxed trouble free pub in Blandford. The beer is kept exceptionally well and the service is good. There must be 8 or more ales on hand pumps plus the fizzy stuff to keep the Lagerboys happy and Guiness with extra cold option. I've never eaten there so I can't comment on the food but I would expect the same high standards to apply. The small size and low ceilings are the only negative things making it a bit smokey later in the evening.

After several visits I won't be going there again. The pub's fine, Beer reasonable, garden good, food very good. It's just the Landlord that spoils the place. I just can deal with they way he treats his staff, he has to interfere with their every action rather than let them interact naturally with the customers. I nearly forgot, don't touch the wine unless you like it mediocre, French and badly kept. If you dare criticise the wine then expect a telling off and insinuations that you don't have a discerning palate. The pub could score 8 or 8.5 without the landlord!

I Forgot to mention they have satelite tv for us poor unfortunates who want to see England rugby matches when they're not on terrestrial TV.
