The Railway Tavern, Staplehurst

Revamped pub under new ownership is worth a visit.
Olde World atmosphere and comfortable seating. Beer is good as well!

The Bell Hotel, Staplehurst

This pub has gone from the ridiculous to the Sublime!
Great food, drink and ambience and a very warm welcome from Karen and Paul the young owners.
A La Carte menu in the evening, a set price selection at lunchtime and a range of coffees etc throughout.
Also, it's a non-smoking pub!

The Pride of Kent, Staplehurst

Unattended kids run around the bar whilst their parants are smoking, drinking (too much)and watching the overloud telervisions.
This pub once had a bad reputation. After a great improvement under Terry Gwilliam, it is as bad as ever!

I concur totally with the previous comments!

The Dering Arms, Pluckley

Excellent Gothic looking pub almost adjacent to the station, although you would never know this as a casual visitor apart from the railway signs.
Food is superb, especially the fish, and I enjoyed the beers!

The Cricketers Inn, Meopham

Great pub overlooking the playing field with good food and beer.

The Cardinals Error, Tonbridge

Nice pub tucked away among houses close to the railway.
Beers ok and I didn't take much notice of what food was seerved.
The derivation of the name is quite interesting, but I will leave you to discover that!

The Bull Inn, St Pauls Cray

Good atmosphere and friendly service. Can recommend the food and beer.

The Broomwood, St Pauls Cray

Very large pub originally built to serve the charabanc trade and the massive housing estate behind it.
That said, you can get a decent meal and a good pint here.

The Bell and Jorrocks, Frittenden

Great Pub if you don't like noise. Genuine country place with good beer.

The Solent Inn, Ryde

Nice friendly pub with a 'used' look bar. Ideal local.

The Tartar Frigate, Broadstairs

An excellent old pub overlooking the sea. Sells good beer and I can recommend the food.
Nice and quiet when we went at lunchtime but it was out of season. I can imagine that it gets very busy during the summer!

The Bell Hotel, Staplehurst

This pub has no idea what it wants to be!
It tries to appeal to all ages and appeals to none, bar the horse racing (gambling) fraternity that are in the bar most afternoons.
Worth a quick visit to view the tasteless decor!

The Walnut Tree, Maidstone

A superb little pub, tucked away in the country, but close to Maidstone. Superb atmosphere.

The River Bar and Grill, Maidstone

If you are over 30, stay away!!

The Bull, Sissinghurst

Pity about the TV but otherwise a good pub for food and drink.

The Crayfish, St Pauls Cray

Typical 'estate' pub with little atmosphere. Used solely by locals.

White Horse, Headcorn

This pub has been completely refurbished and the garden is currently undergoing the same treatment.
The friendly landlord Peter trys to ensure that there are two guest real ales every weekend, always well kept. The food is excellent and real value for money.
