I reckon piano man must have been drinking in a different pub called The Railway, this one has hardly any punters, even less beer and no food.
Thoroughly depressing place now. Hampton deserves better.

I reckon the only reason this place keeps going is cashing on on rugby days. Word of advice for anyone coming to Twickers and wanting pre or post match beers - AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. Go to the White Swan up the river, the Eel Pie or Cabbage Patch, this place is an utter disgrace to the area. I was in with a mate and was stunned to witness the agressive and threatening behaviour of the landlord to a group of lads enjoying a quiet beer after the rugby. Plain clothes police seem to hang around here all the time as they know he is going to explode at any moment.
To call this pub a rugby place is an insult to the game as was his attititude which is totally against the of a sport he claims to be a supporter of.
I'll be voting with my wallet and never going there again, if everyone does the same perhaps we can get this landlord relocated to a maximum security psychiatric ward where he belongs.

Oh dear what has happened to the place. Went in the other week and found myself amongst some of Hampton's less friendly characters.
Place was dirty, no food and very unwelcoming.
Patrick has tried to make it work and should be forgiven for bringing in a few strippers, but brothel it ain't! Fair play to Patrick at least he did a great job making you feel welcome even if his singing was a bit rough! Patrick you should get out while you can and find a proper pub to run because whoever is really pulling the strings has no idea on how to run a decent local boozer..
I'll give it 2 months, Railway Hotel RIP.

Under new management (again) but was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. Massive portions but well cooked and friendly staff. We had set Christmas menu but noticed a decent selection of Italian food on the regular menu.

Dunno what james2 is on about, went in with a mate the other evening wearing an England rugby shirt, ripped jeans and trainers and was welcomed by the French landlord with a half decent pint of guinness...I would have expected him to insist on me wearing a French shirt at the very least but he was pretty chilled. All lights were off, replaced by candles but at least there were a couple of French barmaids to brighten up the place..
There was some guy tinkling the ivories (piano man??) who was actually quite good, pub quiet for Thursday night but punters seemed to be enjoying it. Dunno how he got away with playing Swing Low and God Save the Queen at the end with Patrick around but went down well. Pub used to be a dump, seems to be back on track. Hope they have more live music though, not a lot of it in Hampton.

Place gone downhill recently. Patrick put a lot of effort into the place but without him it's dull and looking quite tatty again. Used to be decent live music but that's all stopped. Big shame, Artur is still around and friendly as usual serving decent food, but whoever the management company is behind the scenes pulling the strings clearly has no idea how to develop a decent pub.

Found myself in there for a few pints on Thursday evening. Nikki and Been from rock band Never Mind the Bride were in having a few drinks. These two are an awesome talent and made the whole night really special with their impromptu performance around the piano. Even the landlord Patrick joined in doing a few French numbers much to everyones pleasure.
Unfortunately, it seems there are more changes being planned with Patrick soon to be 'relocated' to another pub. This would be a real shame as he is always very friendly and welcoming and has some great ideas to offer something different to the punters of Hampton. Reckon the place will probably revert to the hole it used to be if he goes. Big shame.

The Railway Hotel has been completely refurbished and has reopened (again!) Went there for a few beers the other week and was pleasantly surprised. The new landlord is a crazy guiness guzzling Frenchman who prefers to be known as 'Paddy'. He's very friendly and seems to be working hard to make the pub successful. Food is very reasonable, the burger I had was excellent. They've even got a piano and guitar in the pub for the musos amongst us to play!! Definitely worth a visit...

The Railway Hotel, Hampton
Pub now shut down as predicted. It makes me laugh how people can just turn up and pretend to know how to run a pub and then bugger off when they've flushed the place down the toilet...
