Very welcoming, though looking a bit run down. Bombadier and one of the nicest pints of Rev James I've had for a while was available. Big garden at the back. I'll be coming back to try the Sunday roast.

Had "Closed for refurbishment" pinned around the outside. and now a commercial letting sign as gone up. It's a wonderful building and I'll be sorry to see it go.

Polite and friendly staff made us most welcome. It was a wet and quiet evening, but warm and cosy inside. Prices for beer is some of the most reasonable around here, The Rev James was in good form, but the Doom Bar was lifeless and tased as though it had been around too long.
Watched Thames Valley and Spring Grove Morris Men dance under the umbrellas to an audience of smokers, everyone else was hiding inside away from the damp. Good fun.

A real country pub with a well kept cellar and a manager with a delightfully dry wit. The Lemony Cricket was excellent and although I tried a few other beers it was the Cricket that was the clear favourite. It could have been improved by faster servcice, I think the manager had no help and perhaps wasn't expecting the volume of trade we brought with us. It was a great evening in the company of the Spring Grove Morris Men and their friends Ewell St Mary's, playing some great tunes and singing songs. Great beer to drink and morris dancing to watch - bliss.

The Spring Grove, Kingston Upon Thames
The guest beer seems to have disappeared, but both the Youngs Special and Bombardier were well kept and fresh. The good beer and friendly staff have kept this as my favourite Youngs Pub; and the music, singing and dancing from the Spring Grove Morris Men made a great evening.

I had high hopes for The Albert but found both the Pride and then the Chiswick disapointing and the staff, though numerous, were indifferent. After both pints had failed to please and with Twickenham Festival approaching I checked with staff, aparently the manager "has been busy" and nothing is planned. I'll call in again a couple of weeks when the festival is on but am preparing myself for a walk up the road.

The George and Dragon, Thames Ditton
Welcoming pub with plenty of bar staff and a great village pub feeling. We never had to wait long to be served for beer, food took rather longer than I would expect. The Spitfire was excellent while the Master Brew fine but nothing special, and what a shame that the best cider on offer was Strongbow when there's so much better out there. What made the evening special was the Spring Grove Morris Men Dancers celebrating St George's Day, it created a great atmosphere both inside and out, we'll definitely be going back.

An absolute gem of a pub, everything a local should be and with a great beer garden. We had Sharp's Doom Bar that was judged unremarkable, and Twickenham Fine Ales - Summer Gold that was excellent. It seems to me that Twickenham Fine Ales have a magic touch at the moment everything they brew seems to be coming out good.
The Spring Grove Morris Men danced and played in the beer garden; and everyone got to join in at the end. A lovely evening, thanks guys!

The Spring Grove, Kingston Upon Thames
The pub looks pleasently unchanged by the re-decoration and has lost none of it's charm. Friendly staff served a pint of Kew Gold on draught and we sat in the large garden. It is just me or is the bottled Kew Gold always better than the draught? The bitter was much better, so it's not how the beer is kept.
There's always a friendly crowd here, I hope it survives the recession.
The garden had the Spring Grove Morris Men dancing, and most of the pub came out to watch. I've a got a picture of one of them playing a Serpent, a weird medieval instrument.

Great evening on Wednesday, stuck to the Young's bitter that was top notch. We were served quickly and I was dead impressed by the way the manager handled a drunk who turned up for a pint, a friendly chat and he was on his way.
There was 5 or 6 groups of of morris men dancing by the river, organised by the Spring Grove Morris Men.
Great beer and great entertainment - it doesn't get much better that this.

Only two ales on this evening, the Timothy Taylor's Landlord was excellent and indeed served at a perfect temerature, but we all agreed the Wells Bombardier fell below spec. Food review next time :)
The staff were friendly and helpful and setting is a wonderfully relaxing spot for a pint, like a village green and there was even some Morris dancing from Spring Grove Morris Men - how wonderfully English.

The South Western, Whitton
The building lives on, with the top two floor converted into flats and the ground floor rumoured to have gone to Tesco. Even the stables have survived for now. The pub garden has been sold separately for development into an apartment block.
