This should be one of the best pubs in town - but it aint!
Great position and interesting layout. Not particularly welcoming and beer is unreliable. Essence of yob & deadleg.
Wake up ! - This should be a goldmine.

What a good Pub!
Welcoming and interesting with a good choice of Real Ales on handpump. Busy early evening with food. This is a good, fun pub with lively staff and good beer and food. Highly recommended for all age groups.

First time visit this week. Although out of season & poor weather we were met by friendly staff at opening time (12.noon). First impression very good - nice & clean and beer pumps ready to go with Brains bitter - Rev. James and IPA. All good but slightly chilled !!!
Comfortable & interesting. Recommended for family + food. Dogs welcome at the bar area.

New Management has made a real difference. Twaites as standard - alright but a bit boring. Occasional guest beers which need to be encouraged - Tim Taylor made a visit a few weeks ago and was warmly received. Good pub atmosphere in the left bar but too smokey. Lounge bar on right non smoking but usually empty. Altogether a good pub - now in the top three in Alty. I like the place.

The Old Market Tavern, Altrincham
The pub has just opened again this week. Redecoration and clean up (including the notorious bog)removal of clutter, has freshened up the place a treat. Beer last night was great but slightly reduced range - no problem. I'm going back.
Early days but the signs are very promising.

Smashing pub. Visited several times and found at least 10 active handpumps all seemed to have good beers. Went for Geo.Wright Drunken Duck & Northern Lights....great! Also Arizona + DHB and a handpump stout.
Not for kids - more traditional beer drinkers but several couples around.
Some good music & some not so good but all live music must be encouraged.
