Reopened Tuesday 14th May after a stunning high quality refurb. Initial signs are that it is a grown up pub for grown up people i.e. staffed by people who know what they're doing and aimed at a target market of adults. Food menu looks great.
Looks like a real asset for St Margarets. Fingers crossed that it delivers on the early promise.

St Margarets Tavern, St Margarets
Great position in the centre of St Margarets, but under the pubco that used to own it the response to a recession was to cancel the newspapers, increase prices and reduce quality in certain areas.
The pricing has remained high under the new owners. There also seems to be a stubborn drains problem which means you're paying well over 3/pint to sit in quite an unpleasant environment. I won't be going back until something radical happens to the value-for-money balance here.

St Margarets Tavern, St Margarets
The recent total revamp of the wine list reduces quality and/or ramps up prices. Great tactics in a recession...I think I detect the dead hand of The Spirit Group in this. It must be frustrating for the actual pub management and staff. By and large they do try hard and the beer is usually cracking. Oh well - once the weather improves I guess it's back to the Turks...

Mostly on track now - apart from the prices. This is now a very expensive place to drink

In my opinion the St Mags is settling down again under the new management. OK, so the pub group owners put the prices up but it is now very well run, welcoming and a good place to be

The Prince Albert, Twickenham
Lovely, friendly pub with reasonable prices. Sunday lunchtimes refreshingly free of the hordes of screaming brats you find in "dining" pubs. Having said that, the Thai food is great
A proper pub - my favourite in Twickenham
Well done Fullers
