The Angel, Burford

Tried this pub / hotel after a long walk through the cotswold countryside. The landlord and landlady were very friendly and welcoming and remained attentive throughout our visit. Beer was very well kept (usual Hook Norton brews) and the food was very good. The lunch menu was particularly good value and is well worth seeking out in Burford where prices can be a little inflated.

Would not hesitate to return when in the area.

The Shaven Crown Hotel, Shipton under Wychwood

Sadly only got chance to visit here once when in the area, but would gladly have returned if time had permitted. Food was very good and the beer was excellent - particularly a pint of Whippet (not sure of the brewery) that was exactly my taste.

Staff were very friendly, as were the clientele, and we felt welcome in the snug even with our young (21 month old) daughter along.

The Lamb Inn, Shipton under Wychwood

Visited this pub a couple of times whilst staying in the area... excellent food (Wednesday nights are pie nights and well worth a trip!) and good beer. Staff very friendly, although I got the impression that some of the horsey locals were less than welcoming.
