Crown and Sceptre, Hemel Hempstead

Stopped here during an evening bike ride. A nice old pub in wooded setting. A range of beers and cider in good condition. Just a handful of regulars in - looked like estate workers - who seemed to be deliberately awkward and blocking access to the bar in an otherwise empty pub. Not a particularly welcoming atmosphere and in no rush to return.

The Waggoners, Ayot Green

Call here now and again for a few beers. Condition of the London Pride varies and a bit gassy so maybe not for the connoisseur. Broadside has always been good. No yobs and service always good.

Rose and Crown, Tewin

Glad you survived fugglehops. Can be a bit Jeremy Kyle Show on account of the regulars. Visited for the first time in ages at the weekend for a swift couple and not bad at all. Rear garden has been opened up. Alas, the chavs referred to below are back.
