Lovely pub set in Hayfield village...
The pub has had a makeover and the food is superb.
We have now eaten here on 6 occasions and i can only say that everytime has been fantastic. The food was served with imagination and tasted superb.
Prices are up slightly on your standard pub grub, but you can see why with the standard of food and quailty service.
I shall continue to eat and drink here for a long time to come...
Just awesome, its a jewel in the Hayfield crown.

Superb pub..
Retains how a good pub should be..
Excellent cask beer, real ales and ciders are on offer. The most expensive being 2 !!!
I had a pint of Bridport Cider for 1.70 and it was strong and refreshing at 6%,Hereford orchard is available for the less brave.
This is strictly a vegan pub,but dont let this put you off if your a meat eater. The dishes are excellent, and the curry is to die for..
All in all,a great pub with great prices. What isnt to like?

I have visited this pub regularly over the last 10 years or so,but on my last visit unfortunatly we left disapointed..
17 for a steak and 3.30 for a pint of lager is asking a lot.
Once a lovely pub,the Peels is briskly outpricing itself amongst other pubs in the area.
Food prices are in the Gastro pub league, but food is nothin but average as is the beer.
Caution is needed,as without care this pub could go the way of many others.

Peels Arms, Padfield
Rang up midday to confirm what time food was being served until...9pm was the reply.
Our party of 4 turned up a little later than anticipated from our bike ride but arrived at 8.50pm.We was told that would couldnt have any food as the ovens were now turned off...Ah.... So we asked of we could have sandwiches or if there was anything cold ?.. No was the reply,"if we served you we couldnt have everything cleaned away for 9pm and thats when the serving staff go home"..
We were obviously hungry and dissapointed, but thought we would make the best of it and have a drink and a chat...
2 pints of bitter and 2 pints of lager and 2 bags of cheese and onion crisps later i was relieved of 14.70,and just sat down feeling that i had just been overcharged..
Onto the next round of drinks and true to form, the prices was the same..
We sat in the pub for around 2 hours and apart from 2 other customers we was sat on our own...
Im not suprised to be quite honest.
When pubs should be doing everything they can to please the customer, this place left me cold and unwanted..After drinking there off and on for many years i now feel that this will be my final visit.
I hope they buck there idea's up !!
