Cracking High street beer drinkers' pub. As has been said, landlord Adam - a fine and forthright English character himself - is an enthusiastic CAMRA member and it shows in the splendid and varied beer range (Banks's beer at a very good price for this area is a reliable constant amongst them). No food or frills just good ale in convivial surroundings.
Military memorabilia and prints, and Army band music on the juke box, add character to one of the best pubs in the area and a well-deserved local CAMRA Pub of the Year a year or two back.
The quintessentially English atmosphere of the pub are complimented by the fact that the landlord's good lady is Spanish and Flemish is also apparently spoken by bar staff. They'll change US dollars and euroes too!
The landlord quite rightly insists on basic standards of civility from customers, including taking your hat off when entering!

Lounge bar of this traditional thatched roof village pub (in High St of old village engulfed by Milton Keynes -agh!) dates back to mid-16th Century. Beer range includes Tetley's, Greene King IPA, and Adnams Broadside, unadventurous but all decently kept on hand-pump. Affable landlord and generally friendly regulars.
Pleasant surroundings facing Linford Manor grounds and canal beyond - better for boating visitors than the Black Horse or the Giffard Park nearby in my view, even if a couple of minutes walk from moorings. Recommended - it's my local and I like it, anyway

The White Hart, Sherington
As a regular, if less frequent than I'd like, drinker there for many years I agree with these reviews. The ale range is constantly refreshed - five decent ales normally available. The food is superb - best to book. But unlike some pubs the provision of excellent meals doesn't take over the place or detract from it as a place to enjoy a social drink. Landlord Keith is an affable institution and the village locals friendly. Nice to sit outside in the courtyard on a summer evening supping ale (good wine and tapas nibbles on offer too!)
Beer and Sausage Festival on the May Day Bank Holiday Weekend is an institution worth supporting. This pub has been local CAMRA Pub of the Year 2 years running in the past.
Can be hard to find from the village - best to get to it from the A509 up the hill from the Newport bypass, over the roundabout toward Olney, do a left (2nd Sherington signpost) and left again down Gun Lane.
