The White Hart, Pirbright

Now the White Hart after a refurb, I disagree that that was a downgrade. The food at first was great, as was the service and variety of choices.
However the quality of all of the above has dropped tremendously over the past year and now the only reason for going is on a sunny afternoon to have a few bottles of Aspall's Organic (which I can't find elsewhere).
Open sandwiches are a disaster and their insistence on serving dodgy veggie sides to all main courses is off the ball to say the least.
Made the mistake of ordering a burger recently - cooked medium, turned up with the consistency of my shoes and burnt to a crisp.

The Fox, Fox Corner

A great location, great decor and efficient, friendly staff spoiled only by a limited and unchanging menu.
The menu, with the very odd exception, hasn't really changed in the past 2-3 years.
We find ourselves returning every 6 months or so just in the hope that things have changed.
The food is always of a good standard, but the lack of variety and somewhat higher than usual prices are a drawback.

The Jolly Farmer, Worplesdon

The food really seems to have improved over the last 6 months. They have a very tasty and varied specials board to compliment the standard menu and I invariably find myself choosing something from there.
Service is good, although a few more smiles wouldn't go amiss from some of the staff.
The only major complaint is the lack of parking - a problem if you don't get there before 12.30 on a sunny weekend lunch.
