The Welington Arms, Marlborough

Better alternative to the Sun across the road, didn't eat but Ramsbury was good and staff offered friendly service.
Pub isn't too big but with a small fire was cosy enough, would be happy to visit again.

The Sun Inn, Marlborough

New Owners.
Went there a few Satudays ago to discover that it has new owners/management. Unfortunately with this change the average age has dropped to about 22 and chav level has quadrupled = the men were wearing more jewellery than the women.
A real shame.

The Royal Oak, Wootton Rivers

Largest menu I have ever seen in a pub, a bit dated inside but probably down to its location. I think I had the same member of staff as below - couldn't raise one smile.
Food was good and a nice quiet location, dog & child friendly.
Would go again but ensure I got another barmaid/man!

The Sun, Richmond

Good pub, great character, big rugby pub. Heard that they may be redecorating which could ruin it??!!!

The Green Dragon, Marlborough

Good ales but that is it. Tired, tatty, old, sullen and empty.

The Ship, Mortlake

Taking on a dangerously large amount of water and likely to sink without a trace unless numerous problems are addressed asap. Go elsewhere.

The Alma Tavern, Wandsworth Town

The bar area has hardly changed since I lived here in the early '90's, definitely one of Youngs better pubs. Friendly enviroment, never any trouble, good beers, very popular during sporting events and right next to station. A big jumping off point for the internationals at Twickenham. Didn't try food this time but would recommend a visit.

The Old Ship, Hammersmith

Very popular pub at the weekends and in the summer, unfortuately has problems with food quality/pricing - still my main gripe with all the 'gastro-pubs' these days but I have yet to have any bad experiences with the staff.
And getting a table on the balcony upstairs in the summer makes up for all else, a great place to drink with friends in the sun!!

The Dove Inn, Hammersmith

Really relaxed pub, very small but worth a visit as most people seem to stick with those next to the bridge. Cosy pub in the winter and also nice in the summer if you can get a seat on the patio in back.
Lots of history and adequate reasonably priced food, last time I ate there.
Try it.

Ye White Hart, Barnes

Great location but like most Youngs pubs lacking the investment to turn it into a top pub.
Don't understand why they don't open up the 2nd floor on busy days either?

The Castlenau, Barnes

Was there at the weekend for the first time in ages and was disappointed to see that they'd sold of 60% of the garden to some developer - still an attraction for the summer. Food was ok and our waitress was personable enough but still feels a bit like a spruced up Tootsie's inside.

The TreeHouse, Barnes

Good beer garden and upstairs area but the downstairs is more a restaurant and the food is very overpriced.

The Sun Inn, Barnes

Have to agree that the service is usually quite poor, as is alot of the food and the food is overpriced but it does have a good atmosphere, a nice selection of beer and sits in a great location across from the pond.
Think it deserves higher than a 3.6/10.0
A good idea would be a comments box at the pub to try and rectify some of the problems.

The Legless Tup, Fulham

Has really gone downhill since becoming a 'Tup' pub, I've been back a few times since it changed hands and was only happy in the summer when we could sit out in the beer garden. The service is poor, the food overpriced and attention to detail non existant.

The Sun Inn, Marlborough

The best pub in Marlborough, friendly owners, staff and patrons. It's got two distinct areas to choose from: an older traditional section with a huge fire, bar stools and dark wooden paneling and also a more modern lighter section.
It has a good selection of ales and the food is at a reasonable price and of good quality. It's dog & child friendly (as long as they are well behaved) and seems to be popular with all ages - which speaks for itself.
If I were to mark it down on anything, it would be its size, which is a bit on the small side but for many people that is probably a plus?!
