Yates'. If you want a fight, late at night there's only one place to go. Staff can be very rude. Stack em high, sell em cheap type thing. Usual Yates' style crowded, noisy, unfriendly, drunken affair, they can make any place terrible. Avoid it.

They have a great selection of beers on most of the time. They often do Dark Star beers which are excellent. Laurence runs the place and he is a very welcoming gentleman who has done sterling work with this place. Bar staff are always friendly and they love dogs too. It used to be the Yelton Hotel, full of beer swilling idots but now it is excellent. Thanks Laurence.

They do lovely Dark Star beers and Harveys is always on. Beer is always served in perfect condition. The bosses Lee and Ian know how to run proper pub. Bar staff are very good too. I wish the bar area was slightly more like a bar though as it is very much a foody pub now. That said, the 3 meals I have had in there have all been excellent. The gardens (front and back) are perfect for the kids and there is a playing field over the road so even more kid friendly. Brilliant pub.

This pub is not very nice and how it gets a rating of 6/10 before my review I'll never know. I can only assume because very few people have been in it and rated it. There are hardly ever any people in there and which gives it no atmosphere. The bar is tatty and they don't serve any real ale. No beer, no atmosphere, enough already!

The Royal Oak is due to re-open any day now. It is true that a consortium took over the pub and they have done an extensive refurbishment. I used to live down the road from this pub and know it well. It has been gutted and refurbed to a high standard. The poeple who are doing the day to day running also have the Queens Head in Icklesham. I have spoken to one of them and asked that he get some nice real ales on. It will be opening any day now and will be doing food as well as usual lagers and real ales. I am due for a visit soon so will let you know how it went very soon. Peace. Out.

The Dripping Spring, St Leonards on Sea
My local. It is brilliant. Why? Sometimes as many as 9 different real ales on. The new landlord (I say new, he's been there since January 2010) looks like Butch Dingle but he is nice though. Beers always changing and he has notched up 317 different ones since he has been there. Not bad! Locals are a friendly lot and you feel like you are in your front room having a beer. If you go and don't like it I'll buy you a pint. I'm usually in after work at 5. Bottoms up

I live locally and use this pub infrequently. The beer is always good and there is usually Hophead and Harveys all in top notch form. One of the best time to go is early when the old fishermen are in. Always friendly people there. Lovely jubbly.

The Stag, Hastings
I went in this pub recently and recalled that I went to school with the girl behind the bar. She didn't recognise me and was very rude. I had a badly presented half of Shepperd Neame Amber Ale. As a brewery the beers are all pretty bad but the Amber was having an off day like the bar maid. I stood at the bar and she proceeded to scowl and be rude to everyone that came to the bar including the local head of CAMRA, he's a nice guy and seemed not to notice she was rude to him. For beer and customer servcie it has to be 0/10 but for being a lovely old building it gets a point.
