The Old Anchor, Twickenham

Visited last night for the first time. Very impressed with the decor, ambience and decent beer. Landlord and landlady made us feel really welcome and the pub quiz was very good. Will be coming back here for sure to see what it is like at a busier time. Recommended.

The Crown, St Margarets

Visited last night (a quiet August Thursday). This pub has all the right ingredients - great location, nice interior, good beer garden. So why is it so empty? Couple of families in there with small kiddies running around (well past their bed times) - so agree with some of the other comments. Something is missing - namely customers - and I'm not sure why. Summary: good pub, but really needs an atmosphere.

The Turks Head, St Margarets

Visited a couple of weeks ago after the smoking ban. Seemed a bit quieter not surprisingly. They have spent some money doing up the beer garden outside - which is a nice touch. Good Fuller's (Discovery) on tap and the pub grub was decent value and quality. Recommended if you're in the area.

The Turks Head, St Margarets

This pub is my local and normally very consistent. Went last night (13 Sept) when the footie was on. I'm no big fan, but the pub had advertised the event with screens in most rooms - so it was pretty packed .... and yet: only 2 people serving, with average 10min waiting time and not enough manpower to clean the tables - so the place was a bit minging. Could have been a one-off... let's see.

The Crown, St Margarets

This is my first review. Went last Saturday 11 June in the evening. Was impressed by the atmosphere. Good DJ playing cool music. Not incredibly busy - leather armchairs and cosy corners to sit and chill. Mixed crowd of people and not any young idiots. I didn't have the pleasure of visiting this pub under the old management, so can't compare, but is a welcome local addition and a nice change of scene from the St. Margaret's Tavern at the other end of Crown Road which tends to monopolise the area. Go now, before it becomes too popular.
