Only good if you've had one too many and can't be bothered going somewhere better.

Mix of chavs and slappers on the dancefloor.

Had no problem with the service or the doormen, though. Let us in even though we were three sheets to the wind.

The Lion, Archway

The Lion is a local source of ridicule for being trapped in the past. Like drinking in an old man's living room.

Terrible service, I was largely ignored for not having been drinking there for the last 50 odd years.

I saw three young women walking out of there one night, I had to do a double-take.

I think they were just in to use the toilets, right enough.

The Mother Red Cap, Archway

Great that they give out free sandwiches and forgot to charge me for a round I ordered. Besides that, not a good bar. Too intimidating, if you're not one of the Irish locals.

Heard it's just been refurbished and is re-opening this week. Don't think I'll be going back again, though.

The Drum and Monkey, Archway

Terrible design - the barstaff have more room behind the bar than the customers have in the pub.

There's a gambling machine in there, which is labelled "For Amusement Only." Gee, nothing more amusing than winning a gambling game and receiving no money for it.

Besides that, it's a reasonable pub. No TV when I was last there, on a Saturday night to catch the football. Felt a bit like walking into somebodies living room. Service was good, the barman was friendly enough.
