Fair enough it's got that old East End feel (great!) but that doesn't count for anything if your drink is warm, the glass is dirty and your chair is falling apart. Terrible! blue22 - 29 Aug 2011 13:09 |
Popped down the OKR for the first time in a few years last month. Was sad to see so many pubs have been torn down or boarded up. The Nelson is a brilliant pub with a real East End atmosphere and I still look forward to the long trek down some old haunts to have a pint in my first ever London local. Still full of memories and I always see a smile. A great pub. makavelli - 20 May 2011 14:11 |
Hope they never replace this place with something modern! It's earned it's place here in the Old Kent road. Actually, it's probably the best looking building along the block! wortman - 6 Mar 2008 14:33 |
This pub has stood it's ground when all around has changed. Is it mid-Victorian?..not sure. Had a couple of beers in here recently one afternoon. Not much of a selection to choose from but it was nice just to sit in the place. It's looked much like this since i can remember. Glad they (?) haven't ripped the old place apart. wortman - 10 Dec 2006 14:15 |
Been drinking here since I lived in Trafalgar Avenue in 2001/2. May seem a little rough but I have never seen an ounce of trouble in there. Cheap beer, well worth more than just a monopoly board kick off. I really rate this pub. makavelli - 23 Apr 2005 21:56 |
