Popped in here on a Saturday lunch time, as it seems to be one of the few pubs around with any outside seating. This consists of a patio area out the back. Not particularly attractive or scenic, but then they do call it a patio and not a garden and it's a real sun trap. In order to get to the patio you have to walk across the dance floor, which strangely had rather loud music playing even when there was no-one actually in the pub. No real ales on tap, and just Strongbow cider. Food was pleasant enough, although very basic - sandwiches, jackets, etc. I imagine the place is rammed with a young crowd on a Friday or Saturday night. Blackthorn - 1 Jun 2009 12:23 |
I remember it when it was the lion and it has taken a big step forward. Good food, a very good selection of drinks and varied good music at the weekends...One of the better places in this god forsaken place!!! Jamie - 26 Feb 2004 11:38 |
I'm showing my age, but I remember this pub before the Lion when it was the White Lion. Never been the same since those days. Simon - 22 Feb 2004 15:10 |
Its now a very different place to what it was a couple of years ago, Compare Paris to Calais! (Calais is horible with no style or culture! just like the Lion Was) it is now a very sharp spot. A bit o' class came to the Borough Decent music, wines and food. Dan Cavaliere - 17 Sep 2003 13:55 |
