Popped in last night for the last 20 minutes of the England game on the tele. Busy pub that emptied a bit after the game ended. No ales available but the pints of Kozel I had were perfect. Not really my sort of pub but not bad lezford - 16 Oct 2013 14:11 |
over crowded, very boisterous inside and outside, mind you it was a saturday evening! unfortunately the cask ale was warm! had a similar problem recently too at its sister pub on the Euston Road! Won't rush back again in a hurry. ng10 - 9 Aug 2012 15:23 |
What a fail. There's a big guy behind the bar that literally doesn't understand his job. When there are 2 people waiting and one being served in your area, it is not acceptable to not know who's next! He kept serving others before me and even though it was quiet early evening time, it took so long to get served each time even by the other people on the bar, we left straight after our food came and went to the green man, where at least the bar staff have some urgency. Food was meh, same as all oneils but smaller and not as nice as the oneills in bromley and blackheath - maybe the kitchen staff here care about their jobs as little as the bar staff. The only reason I can think of to go here is if you're shopping on Carnaby and fancy a beer and can't be bothered to walk to anywhere good. Zombie - 22 May 2010 08:50 |
Great bar. Was in there recently and they had a cracking band playing. A bit annoying in that the tourists keep coming in and out, and the pub is also strangely laid out, but overall I would definite return when I next visit London. john_thomas - 3 May 2010 16:14 |
I really liked this place when it was the Firkin, . . . but now, thanks to certain aspects its nothing but a grotty little hole!, . . . unpleasent staff who have virtually no experience in customer relations, . . . very overpriced drinks, . . . & as for the food, you can get better in the bins at McDonalds!! - (if you do happen to eat there, at least the public toilets are right outside!)
