Typically good Wetherspoons with cheaply priced food and drinks and friendly service. 10 minutes from train station. Surprisingly quiet before a Premier League football match. I wasn't feeling well enough to fully enjoy the food and drink, but it looked good, and hopefully I can enjoy it on my next visit. Trev - 1 Jan 2017 14:47 |
Wetherspoons pub not too far from the station and dispensing drinks in plastic glasses on our visit yesterday. With the festival on, there was a decent enough range of ales - Titanic Nine Tenths Below, Greene King Ruddles Best & Abbot, Otter Pilgrim, Davenports Bee-Zone & Moorhouses APA Special. Ciders were Thatchers Traditional & Westons Cider Twist Ginger & The Governor. One of the plastic glasses I had was suffering from a slight crack and leak which meant I had to down it a little quicker than anticipated. The pub was fairly busy, given it was a matchday. But we still managed to get seats. The toilets are a bit of a hike upstairs. Typical Wetherspoons bland interior. blue_scrumpy - 25 Mar 2012 13:31 |
Slipped in for a swift pint on Wednesday on a short stay in the the city and was neither impressed or disappointed. Absolutely typical Wetherspoons. All in all there are far worse Wetherspoons you could go into but as a rule i wouldn't suggest this is place you could spend all night in. Leebs - 23 Oct 2009 20:15 |
You get what you pay for here really, it's alright, the drink's are pretty cheap compared to local rivals, but the atmosphere is far from lively - but it's too big to have a real pub feel - if you want to save money stay at home and drink there for longer before going somewhere good. pjmpidge - 27 Aug 2009 15:07 |
Met friends there last night and within 10 minutes of sitting down we were all scratching our legs...the carpet is absolutely stinking and must be infested with fleas!!! People eating there and children there aswell. Have spoken to their head office this morning and the local environmental health department. Disgusting! mikeSWANSEA - 22 Dec 2008 13:16 |
