| I've walked past this place for years, finally started going in, and glad I did. They've got 5 pump handles all with guest ales, none of which are on for very long so they must do a decent volume. Food is also excellent, both lunch and dinner. specialimport - 7 Jan 2017 15:27 |
| Just like Snarling Mallard, I was pleasantly surprised at the Grove. I've done most pubs in Ealing. But I've never set foot in this one before. Around half of the pub is reserved for drinkers and the other half is reserved for diners, with an open kitchen at the one end. The ale selection was good - London Fields Hackney Hopster, Greene King IPA, Sambrooks Wandle, Vale Gravitas, Sharps Doom Bar & Hogs Back Surrey Nirvana. No real cider is served. But they did have Hogs Back Hazy Hog on keg - the first time I've seen that other than in a bottle. Seems like it's possible a rugby pub. | Quite surprised by the ales on offer and the quality (Dark Star Hophead, Stroud Organic, Trumanns). It has your typical open plan quasi gastro look (as opposed to the multi roomed days when it was the Queen Vic) but not a bad place to try an ale or two. anonymous - 23 Aug 2014 16:13 |
| The beer garden here is the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon. There is an interesting selection of ales available that change almost daily. If you're looking to have a meal, find a table in the beautiful restaurant that opens out into another garden. You'll find the standard pub favourites like fish and chips, burgers and steak, but I reccomend trying the pork or lamb.
