Arrived just after lunch opening so bit quiet. Just two Steamin Billy beers on but both in extremely good condition. Friendly landlord.

This is now the Three Crowns and was my second Oakham pub (the White Lion Hotel is not listed on here). It's a Steamin' Billy pub serving 4 of their ales - Tipsy Fisherman, Skydiver, Bitter & Vardy's Volley. Fynbury's Rutland Cider is also served. It was fairly quiet for a Sunday afternoon. Although the music was a bit loud. One guy was playing darts whilst a couple played on what I assume was a fruit machine. The environment was fine but the gents toilets left a lot to be desired. Dogs are welcome. What I assume was the pub's dog, was doing a dancing trick for biscuits!

"what mad man doesnt serve Strongbow"? Quite a sensible one, I'd say. That's like saying "what mad man doesnt serve Watneys Red Barrel"? Wake up, this is 2014 and cider drinkers don't settle for fizzy pish any more.

Dear All
I havent been in the Griff for ages mostly because it was full of chavs and chavettes.
Its much better now since Steaming Billy's took over, but its still wrong wrong wrong.
For some insane reason the staff (all pleasant) are dressed like National Express bus drivers. FROM THE 80's !!!
There seems to be the most ecletic mix of random grub on the bar from cheese straws (why ?) to the most hidous looking chicken wings in the world.(they are free and i can see why)
i saw one bloke take one look and leave without taking his jacket off while one of 'Blakey's bar staff' was devouring them by the handfull.
As my friend said 'they wern't flying off the counter'
No napkin to wipe your hands or nothing. disgusting
The worse thing in an improving pub is the bloody music or muszak.
Poxy Chris de Burg ..... on a loop ..... I mean Chris de Burg.
What menalist thinks that a good idea, a bloody iceburg would be better.
It's gone from Chavegas to Gods waiting room.
Hey ho it's their football but a more balanced approch would be nice.
Just as a after thought what mad man doesnt serve Strongbow (the Simmons is agood replacment) or Guinness.
Over and out Nobby (keep em peeled)

On a pleasant curving street with picturesque thatched cottages lies a haven for ageing 'hoodies'. 'Wanna buy some cheap baccy?'
