please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Things have changed mightily since the last tranche of reviews regarding this pub. It has now been gentrified and serves a reasonable range of real ales. It also does food which - if the menu can be believed - is pretty good for pub grub. I had a bottle of Goose IPA for an eye-watering £4.20. Bearing in mind that it's a craft beer imported from over the Pond, that's not too outrageous a price but it's hardly a bargain. For my mind, it should be going for £3.20 a pop, which is about what I've paid for it before. jenkinz - 4 May 2016 19:57 |
The only cask beer they had, was Boddingtons and it tasted awful. So bad was it, that I had to drink the John Smiths smooth. Went in to watch the England v Ecuador game, but the place was almost empty, with little sign of many chavs. Wanderer - 26 Jun 2006 08:26 |
I visited this pub a few weeks ago on a weekend night. Alot of nice couples in there but the local chavs from edgeley and there abouts are a disgrace and the bar staff and management go along with it. It got to the point that at 10:30 the pub was closed by the police, it was my first and certainly last visit. stuartdicks - 15 Jun 2006 13:15 |

Not a bad pub. Although chav's dominated this pub at one point, the landlord has issued a "No Caps or Tracksuits Allowed" policy which pleased many of the regulars. Decent beer, average price and a cozy feel during mid-week. Packed at weekends like the George and Dragon (cheadle) but doesn't seem to host as many 'volatile' types. Mac Boswell - 10 Nov 2004 16:19 |
