Called on a very sunny sunday afternoon, the beer garden was very busy. A good mix of younger and older customers with a very friendly atmosphere. Two ales were available, Sharp's Doombar and St. Austell's Tribute, both in good contition. Apart from the service a bit on the slow side, I would make the effort to return there. Did not eat there, so I can't comment on the food. hywel2002 - 29 Jul 2011 20:02 |
I think the Pub has improved in the last couple of years. food and beer much better. mike_pct - 2 May 2010 21:18 |
Had lunch there today, very very poor, 3 different meals, 2 were served little more than warm, while the scampi didn't seem to be cooked. Staff were pleasant, but the quality of the food leaves a lot to be desired. Not much hope if a pub cant turn out a decent plate of lasagne or a steak pie.Not somwhere we will be returning to, and if other readers take my advice they will also give it a very widebirth. mimi121 - 30 Jun 2007 15:00 |
Visited this pub on Easter weekend. Despite appearing to do a good trade it was not a good place to eat. Both meals which arrived were not what we ordered. We asked for this to be corrected, only to be told (10 minutes later) that this couldn't be done as the menu wasn't correct. Not our fault, but apparently this wasn't their fault either! There are better pubs in the area. Avoid. jamlip - 9 Apr 2007 09:55 |
I agree, not so good for food. A good drinking pub though, and a good atmosphere in the 'proper bar' area; at last a good drinking pub with not so much emphasis on food! anonymous - 29 Oct 2006 22:34 |
