Horsham is pretty dreadful town when it comes to finding decent ales, so was quite pleasantly suprised to find some Abbot on in top form, however the euphoria was short lived when a nosey member of staff decided to barge into our private argument and try to provoke us for some totally unknown reason, next thing the bouncer marches over.... absolutely digraceful... shame on you Greene King (employee) moclips2002 - 26 Dec 2011 19:41 |
Recent begged the Greene King area manager to sort this place out. Could be a gold mine if it competed with the Black Jug, instead it just keeps going backwards. workhard - 10 Oct 2011 16:56 |
When it re-opened after the refit it was a breath of fresh air. The fresh air got old fast. Good place to meet up and get gone from. Food below avg. beer ditto. Staff nice and customers keep themselves to themselves in the main. workhard - 2 Jun 2010 17:41 |
Modern interior - a good place to meet friends as there are hundreds of seats. For the real ale though... well, last time I visited, out of 3 pumps 2 were off, one the Greene King IPA (can't believe they managed to run out of that) and the other a pump without even a clip on it. The remaining Abbot Ale was in poor condition and I didn't have a second, having to switch to lager. I imagine this is where most of their business comes from, that and bottles. All the drinks seemed ridiculously expensive. Town centre prices. Food is ok ish and cheap ish, about wetherspoons quality. If you can get 20 friends in they'll bring out a free buffet of hit and miss sausage rolls and things. Good place for meeting up with friends but that's about it. There are far better places in Horsham for everything else. MurkyGrom - 19 Mar 2010 18:39 |
I paid my first visit here earlier in the month on a Friday evening. The palce was very busy and noisy but the bar staff still seemed to be able to serve customers politely and quickly. The beer was okay but the usual Greene King staples. I think the acoustics could be better - I found it difficult to hear my companions speaking. Ordinary - 17 Dec 2009 14:07 |
