last weekend i spent my hard earned sunday lunch time at the plymouth arms only to be faced with vile food and arragant barr staff and the waiting staff were useless one female member in particular who seemed to be running the floor staff well trying to was so rude i felt i wanted to leave.my humble advice is stay well away from this horried run public hole. pearce - 28 Aug 2010 10:05 |
My now husband and I recently had our wedding at the castle opposite the Plymouth Arms and we took our guests there for some pre-wedding drinks. Out of courtesy we contacted the pub twice in the run up to the big day to let them know to expect a bus load of people arrive at lunchtime on a Saturday. Unfortunately for us we were absolutely appalled at the treatment our guests received at the hands of the megalomaniac 'manager' and his surly, disdainful and obnoxious bar staff. Service was painfully slow not to mention downright rude - we were absolutely mortified at the way our guests were treated. Those who ate said the food was lukewarm and poor quality - much like the welcome we received. Sadly it seems the pub relies on the fact they have a captive audience of people visiting the museum and castle opposite but they absolutely do not deserve to be in business treating people the way they currently do. My advice - go next door to the fabulous Old Post Office. My husband and I, as well as our 40 guests will never set foot in the place again. They should be ashamed. Avaski - 12 Feb 2009 14:04 |
Good country pub. Beer well kept and very good food. but you need to drive out to it or get a bus from the city centre. mike_pct - 19 May 2008 23:12 |
A charming little place that has several cask ales on pull and nice area to have lunch or dinner. Very reasonably priced and comfortable. The pub is directly across from St. Fagan's abbey and is a good place to wind down with a few pints of Hancock's HB real ale. Travis - [email protected] - 20 Jun 2004 19:45 |
