I and 6 good mates drank here Thursday evenings to 11.00pmish and Sunday lunch from 1970 to 1976. It was run by the ever suffering landlord Ron Jeavons and his fiery buxom wife Doreen. We had the best Bass Charrington bitter ever. Sunday we got free roast spuds. I haven't been here 48 years. Is it different now? We used the right bar Thursday and Sunday the left one. A great pub all those years ago! dustydog - 28 May 2017 21:41 |

A good sized pub just out of the centre of the town. The car park is adequate. The lounge is L-shaped, the left is reserved for pool and darts and the other side has a well laid out and comfortable lounge. Normally it has 2 real ales but only Sharps Doombar was on when I was there. However it is a good beer so I wasn't complaining! Although I wasn't eating the food seems reasonably priced. A nice friendly ambience and it is weel worth a visit. boozers_knows - 27 Oct 2011 14:07 |
