I agree with YoBlo, this is a typical village pub, the like of which are becoming hard to find. The landlord was very chatty, he even admired my old BMW!! Didn't try any of the ales as I saw they served Coor's Light (my favourite lager!!). But I will try one or two on my next visit. Nice local pub. Recommended.

Everything a village pub should be... friendly and unpretentious, with good drinks and simple, reliable food at prices to keep the regulars flocking. Its the kind of pub you can drop into on your own, order a drink and invariably you will get drawn into conversation with the bar staff or the locals.

The ales are very well cared for, this is the best pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord that I've ever had. The house wines are OK, but if you're having red ask for the Malbec, its delicious and good value for the quality.

Thursday nights its 2-4-£10 on food, but its popular, so book a table.
Pie night... the first wednesday of every month... is awesome - £5 for one of a good range of pies home made by the landlady... steak and stilton is my tip! That silly low price includes the veg and mash or chips as well of course, superb! Book ahead!
Sunday lunch is really popular, its good honest cooking, nothing fancy here but it hits the spot.

Strnage place, lovely old country pub. Sunday carvery seems popular. Ales not too bad and price was ok but a bit of a drive to get to it!

Old country pub full of rustic charm. Friendly, personal service with good beer at good prices. Friendly people always willing to chat, but will leave you alone if that's what you want. Haven't tried the food as yet, but it is highly recommended in the local area. A little way off the beaten track, which the best country pubs always seem to be, but well worth the trip. Closing time! What's that?!? Apparently hosts a steam traction engine fair each year (don't get the landlord talking about it though, as that will be the only subject for the evening!). Local darts on a friday night with occasional "special" evenings (quizzes, etc).
