Went here for the first time on Monday evening and had a very poor pint of Bombadier. As I said, it's the first time I've been, so I don't know if this is the norm or an unfortunate blip, but I'm not sure if the place deserves another chance given that there are other excellent pubs round here. Just been to the Master Gunner for lunch. Ordered a ham and cheese sandwich which came with no cheese and on very hard, if not stale bread. The chips ordered didnt turn up. The sausage sandwich was again made with the same bread and the poor old sausage was hard and made of that congealed tasteless mess you'd imagine to be found under a dog bowl. Very poor. How can one mess up a sausage sandwich? davidjones1 - 5 Oct 2010 14:12 |
perfectly satisfactory watering hole in an area dominated by sad , featureless "bars" populated by undiscriminating young city types.... The_Speckled_Hen - 2 Jul 2010 15:06 |
overpriced, suit-dominated beer supermarket. Poundland99 - 4 May 2010 10:25 |
If a lack of character and atmosphere mean that you want a fight then I would stick to the North of Old Street too! Not sure what people mean to be honest. Yes it is a little pricey but the staff are always friendly, chatty and swift and always seems to be busier than the surrounding pubs. Have tried most of the other pubs and it certainly seems to me that the old quote "you get what you pay for" is true. Top marks! Pumpy - 25 Jan 2010 11:16 |
